Book Selections for 2012

With your input and suggestions, we have finalized the reading list for next year! Here they arranged chronologically:

JAN. 12: Stargazing Dog by Takashi Murakami
FEB. 9: Planetary, Volume 1: All Over the World & Other Stories by Warren Ellis, John Cassaday
MAR. 8: Moving Pictures by Stuart Immonen and Kathryn Immonen
APR. 12: American Flagg! by Howard Chaykin
MAY 10: Ultimates, Volume 1 by Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch
JUN. 14: Daytripper by Fabio Moon and Gabriel Ba
JUL. 12: Batman: Hush by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee
AUG. 9: Delilah Dirk & The Turkish Lieutenant by Tony Cliff [available online at]
SEP. 13: Anya’s Ghost by Vera Brosgol
OCT. 11: Beasts of Burden by Evan Dorkin and Jill Thompson
NOV. 8: King of the Flies, Volume 1: Hallorave by Mezzo and Pirus
DEC. 13: Invisibles, Volume 1: Say You Want a Revolution by Grant Morrison & Various Artists

In addition to these selections, we were thinking of organizing two separate, stand-alone events. The dates are still to be determined, but we thought having a movie outing to see The Amazing Spiderman film this summer with a discussion afterward would be fun. Also, since November will be election season, we thought doing a virtual, online meeting using Google mangout would be fun to talk about Transmetropolitan by Warren Ellis, which has an election theme running through it. We’ll confirm these dates early next year; it’ll be fun trying some new meeting types!
